  1. I am just finishing up my final presentation and feel its going very well. I am doing the K-2 Animal Alphabet. I found a cute video to watch and also a little craft for the kids. I am really enjoying this and can't wait for everyone to watch it. My one question is do we present as if you watching are my students so formally do the lesson or more explain everything?

  2. My final presentation is going very well. I am finishing up finding all of the information and now I just need to make it into a video. This presentation really made me feel like I was an actual teacher having to think about, in detail, about the accommodations that are needed in a classroom. My question is, is there a specific time limit, or do we just need to present our findings and talk about them until we have explained enough?

  3. I am hoping that my presentation is going well. The lesson plan that I chose was over the 9-12 Masters of Color lesson. I think I will do a combination approach and maybe show what the final result could look like for the class and then show at least one other visual that helps summarize the information that I am presenting to our class. We didn't have to indicate prior what our three category choices were, right? A lecture can be a good thing, but I realize that many of the students in our class are visual learners or visual/some other combination. Gathering information is not a problem for the three needs that I chose. The part that I enjoy most is incorporating what I have learned to make the accommodations. Hopefully the things I come up with are appropriate and workable in a real classroom situation. I have the same questions as Kailey and Ryan.

  4. My presentation process is going ok, not great, but ok. I learned a great deal about each of the subjects i selected, however i went through so much information trying to understand and use it to fit with my accommodations. My focus is K-3 learning the animal alphabet. I greatly enjoyed thinking about having my own class and working at my desk making up the accommodations for each. I decided to on Dyslexia, English as a second language and bullying. The research i found was really surprising in some areas, so in my presentation i will explain why i made the accommodations that i did. My question is do we need to talk about all 10 facts/information that we learned about each disability or do we just sum it up and link it to the accommodations we made? I was thinking about just uploading it in word document for everyone to see or to add a slide in my video. Im not sure which one is the best to do. I do look forward to seeing everyones final project. Good luck to you all.

  5. My presentation is going well. I am learning alot about the three disabilities I chose. I am having more trouble finding information on anti-social personality disorder. I also chose ADHD because I was diagnosed with ADHD in grade school and really suffered the consequences of the disorder. I had a really tough time in school- especially with certain teachers who didn't understand my disorder. I also experienced a lot of judgement- sadly, most of it came from my own sister who was not diagnosed with the disorder. As a future teacher, it's important for me to understand my student's disabilities in order to have patience and understanding towards them. During my years in school, many of my teachers didn't have patience with me and punished me for things I couldn't necessarily control. I think my experiences will help me become a better teacher- and I loved this assignment because it helped give me insight on not only a disorder I struggled with, but also two other disorders that I had no background on.
