  1. My final project I felt went very well. I wasn't sure how we were supposed to upload it that is why there are two uploads for mine. I actually had a lot of fun doing this project. I was able to learn more in depth information about the three special needs I covered and as well as learning how to accommodate for different students. I found a high value for this project for people who are becoming teachers to feel just how it works to make accommodations for students. It really shows what it means to be inclusive by accommodating for all students learning types and including them into the one main lesson!

  2. I feel like my final project went pretty well. There were a couple of questions that I had that really couldn't be asked because it was hard to ask over email, but overall I think it well. I found a high importance in doing this project because as a future teacher, this will be of high importance for me when I create future lesson plans for my classes.

  3. I feel like my final project went well. This project gave me a TON of insight and really brought me back to my elementary years. All last semester, my professors always told me to "think back to elementary school" and I honestly couldn't remember many specifics. After researching about ADHD (something I've never done before even though I've struggled with the disorder my entire life), I learned ALOT. I learned that my struggles were very consistent with the "normal" struggles that students with ADHD deal with. It kind of made me sad, knowing that if (some of) my teachers had been more educated on the disorder, they could have accommodated for me and made my time in their classroom much smoother. However, it also made me excited because I now have great strategies to use for my future students who struggle with the things I struggled with. I truly believe that the insight I gained from this project will make me a much better teacher.

As for the other disorders I studied, I have gained insight to those as well, and I'm excited to learn about as many disabilities as I can in order to fully understand the struggles my students go through.

  4. Well, not unlike other peoples final project I'm sure, I learn some great factoids and new understandings about a few handpicked disabilities that I never would have considered as possibly detrimental to learning really. At least not to the degree that the three I chose are possible of. So, other then my video turning sideways upon upload for some reason, I feel good about what I put together for a Social Studies lesson accommodation on the project. I did not guess that studying about PKU, visual impairment, and passive aggressive disorder would remind that another reason I want to teach is to help those kids who can't always help themselves in learning.

I can see the value of doing presentations like this in the real classroom environment too, that's for sure. Nothing truly helps us to develop our teacher voices and confidence like standing in front of classmates and trying not to put them to sleep! It's actually a bit of accommodation practice in a classroom since we have to balance what we say with what we show and how we do it in order to keep the greater population entertained and informed. Plus, getting feedback and questions immediately afterwards is a great way to clear up major points and any confusion. From all the reading and writing I've done this break, I think my new idea of being inclusive in the classroom involves being openminded, patient, caring, and always quite flexible. You can help a lot of students if you carry those traits around with you along with being quite accommodating.

  5. My final project went well, however I had technical difficulties with it. I enjoyed all the information I found but I had so much to talk about. My video was almost 20 minutes long. I felt all the information I talked about was really important. Doing this project and finding all the information really is important to get and understanding for each possible disability student that can me in a classroom. The project is in away what all teacher will need to do to make accommodations for students in and inclusive classroom. An inclusive classroom is including all students the opportunity to learn in the regular class despite having a disability. The disability will come along with accommodations to insure learning. I will take all the information i received from this class and project and implement it to my class.
